Safety Integrity Management Program

West Parkland Gas Co-op Ltd.’s system integrity management program goal is to provide a safe and reliable operation of all distribution system facilities, such as regulator/metering stations, distribution mains and services.

This program includes activities associated with the operation, maintenance and expansion of the West Parkland Gas Co-op Ltd. natural gas distribution system and ensures compliance with regulatory and standard operating practices.

The main components of West Parkland Gas Co-op Ltd.’s integrity management program include:

• Cathodic protection of steel systems

• Leak surveys

• Participation in Alberta One- Call line locating service

• Risk based system improvement programs

• Operator training and qualification programs

West Parkland Gas Co-op Ltd. continues to support and participate in the development and refinement of system integrity standards and best practices with other natural gas distribution companies.
